At the Feast of Corpus Christi mass in June 2014, Pope Francis concluded his homily with this prayer:
defend us from the temptations
of worldly food
that makes us slaves;
purify our memory,
so that it does not remain captive
in selectivity, selfishness and worldliness,
but is a living memory of your presence
throughout the history of your people,
a memory that becomes a ‘memorial’
of your gesture of redemptive love.”
Join the diocese in honoring Our Lord
on the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ
in the annual Corpus Christi procession.
Bishop John Noonan and participants
will pray at Eucharistic altars of repose which highlight
the music and traditions of various ethnic communities in the diocese.
